Indigo Is Here to Make Your Printing Operations More Productive

You make money when your presses are running. Indigo can help you keep them running with dry ice blasting that cleans fast, with minimal or no teardowns, and on a schedule that lets us clean when it's convenient for you: on nights, weekends, or even holidays.

  1. Reason #1

    Ink & Coating Residue

Printing presses, rollers, and nearby equipment collect ink and coating residue that maintenance teams need removed so lines can be inspected and kept running.

  2. Reason #2

    Buildup Around the Press

Frames, ancillary equipment, and access areas can accumulate ink mist, dust, or coating buildup that slows maintenance work when it is left in place.

  3. Reason #3

    Minimizing Downtime

Dry ice blasting allows your equipment to be cleaned "hot" with minimal teardown, significantly reducing downtime. Additionally, Indigo operates around your schedule—including weekends, holidays, and off-shifts—to ensure your lines keep running without production interruption.

What we clean

Key Press Components We Clean

  • Ink Chambers, Doctor Blades & Fountain Trays

We blast away dried UV, water-based, and solvent inks from all seven enclosed chamber systems, end seals, application manifolds, and fountain pans, taking care not to scratch or damage metering blades or blade edges.

  • Anilox Rollers

We strip residual and dried ink from ceramic and chrome anilox rolls across all seven color stations to help restore cell volume and ink transfer, taking care to avoid scoring.

  • Plate Cylinders & Clamps

We clear dried ink and mounting-tape adhesive from plate cylinders and their clamping mechanisms.

  • Impression Cylinders & Transfer Drums

We remove stray ink mist, paper dust, and residue from impression drums and between-deck transfer webs.

  • Circulation Return Lines & Pans

We strip caked ink buildup from circulation return lines and return trays.

  • Facility & Air Handling

We clear ink mist, paper dust, and heavy grease from exhaust fans, overhead ductwork, and structural ceiling trusses, with dry debris falling straight down for quick floor sweeping.

What Indigo can do

Cleaning a 7-Color Flexographic Printing Press

When cleaning a modern 7-color flexographic printing press, our dry ice process targets areas prone to stubborn ink deposits, paper lint, dried coatings, and adhesive overspray. This safely removes heavy buildup and operational bottlenecks without harming delicate press components. By dynamically adjusting media feed rates, pellet sizes, and air pressures across different sections of the press, we achieve maximum cleaning efficiency while completely protecting sensitive surfaces.

Here is a breakdown of the key components we focus on:

Ink Chambers, Doctor Blades & Fountain Trays:
Blast away dried UV, water-based, or solvent inks from the 7 enclosed chamber systems, end seals, application manifolds, and fountain pans, being careful not to scratch or damage metering blades or blade edges.
Anilox Rollers:
Safely strip residual and dried ink from ceramic or chrome anilox rolls across all 7 color stations to restore cell volume and ink transfer efficiency, making sure we avoid scoring damage.
Plate Cylinders & Clamps:
Clear dried ink and mounting tape adhesive off the plate cylinders and mechanisms.
Impression Cylinders & Transfer Drums:
Remove stray ink mists, paper dust, and residues from the impression drums and between-deck transfer webs.
Circulation Return Lines & Pans:
Strip caked ink accumulations out of circulation lines and return trays.

Once blasting is complete, your team inspects the press line to verify that all components are meticulously cleaned and undamaged. Because dry ice instantly sublimates into gas—leaving zero secondary moisture or liquid waste—our crews simply vacuum or sweep up the dry ink flakes, paper dust, and debris. We then remove any protective masking and turn the fully restored press back over to your team for immediate production.

How a printing quote works

From press details to a clear written quote

Tell Indigo about the press, residue, and timing. You get a written scope before any cleaning is scheduled.

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Understand the job

We start with a phone conversation, photos, or an on-site walkthrough to learn how the equipment or area operates and what needs cleaned.

Smaller scopes may only need photos and a short discussion for an initial budget quote.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Plan the cleaning approach

We outline a cleaning approach, access needs, and timing options that fit your maintenance window.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Send a service quote

You receive a clear written quote to review with maintenance and purchasing before deciding to move forward.
